Class Description: Weekend Workshop: 2 Sessions/3 hours each session. In this class we will create a ring using lost wax casting. During the first session we will make our ring model and try out various wax carving techniques: creating form and texture through building up, carving, sawing, filing, piercing, and sizing our ring, and then preparing it for casting. After the first class your ring will then be taken and cast into metal. In the second session we will learn how to properly clean and polish a ring casting, from removing the sprue, to filing, to sanding and finishing.
*Students will be required to pay for their own ring casting; all other materials and access to basic hand tools are included with class.
Class Size: Limited to 4 people and spaces are sold on a first come, first serve basis.
